• May 16, 2025 – The burn ban for the Borough of Mont Alto has been lifted. 
• March 4, 2025 – An open BURN BAN has been declared for the Borough of Mont Alto
• January 22, 2025 – Burn Ban has been lifted for the Borough of Mont Alto
• November 14, 2024 – Franklin County Commissioners issued a county wide Burn Ban, for Franklin County, PA

Program Letter and Application

Situated on the West Branch of the Little Antietam Creek in south-central Pennsylvania, the Borough of Mont Alto was first incorporated in 1913.  Mont Alto is proud to be the home of a Penn State University campus as well as the Mont Alto State Park.  History and culture are never far away.  Mont Alto is located 20 miles West of Gettysburg and just 8 miles north of the Mason-Dixon Line.  Harrisburg, Hershey, Baltimore, and Washington DC are all within a few hours drive from Mont Alto.
