Due to extreme dry conditions, and lack of rain fall, The Mont Alto Borough Council has approved a burn ban for the Borough of Mont Alto. The ban is effective immediately and will stay in place until further notice.
A burn ban means that Mont Alto Borough Residents WILL NOT be able to have any open fires of any types, including yard waste, bonfires, campfires, trash burning, fire pits etc. Mont Alto Fire Department as well as Franklin County Emergency Services have been notified of Borough Council’s decision to place the ban in effect due to the extreme conditions.
The Borough Council is taking every precaution to keep our community safe from the hazards of fires due to the lack of rainfall and we will notify residents when the burn ban has been lifted.
